This build up was to be part of a Tuskegee exhibit at an aviation museum to be built here in Colorado springs. Unfortunately, the museum failed due to poor management.

What a blast to sand all those rivets and fill all those horrible seams! Now that's modeling! Had to put a bunch of shot into the nose to get it to sit on its wheels, too. Gotta love these old Airfix kits. Thanks for the ride, Airfix Pals!! Thanks also to Rick Sherry of Centennial/IPMS
